Both Surah Hijr and Surah Nahl have an ayah in which Allah tells us about the divine guidance in the Quran. Therefore, our focus for this Juz will be the Quran.

Surah Hijr

“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.” -Surah Hijr, ayah 9

Quran Crossword Puzzle

This is a self explanatory activity you can download HERE. This crossword puzzle is designed to help children learn some facts about the Quran in a fun and interactive way.

Surah Nahl

“…And We have revealed to you the Book, an exposition of everything, and guidance, and mercy, and glad tidings for the Muslims.” -Surah Nahl, ayah 89

The Quran is revealed to us as a source of guidance. Yet, many of us (myself included) cannot understand the original text. The depth of the words are much greater than any translation out there. Another interesting and beautiful fact about the Quran is that many of the words are repeated. In fact, some scholars have put together a list of words that if memorized and thoroughly understood could possibly allow you to understand 80% of the Quran. SubhanAllah. How amazing. In our home, we try to memorize a few of these words as they appear in our lessons. Inshallah I hope that this way the children will learn the majority of these words by the time they reach adulthood.

Quranic Words

This activity will allow children to learn a few of the arabic words through a matching activity. There are NO ANSWERS for this activity. The ayahs for each of the words are listed next to the arabic text for defining in the Quran. The first number represents the surah number, and the second number is the ayah in which the word can be found. To download the activity, please click HERE. Try to first have the children say the arabic and try to figure out the meaning WITHOUT looking up the meaning. They may surprise you and know more words than you realize. Then, go through the mentioned ayahs and find the meaning for the remaining words.
