Surah Ankaboot

Sometimes we become too accustomed to buying food at the grocery store that we forgot that the real source of our Risq is from Ar- Razzaaq, the provider of sustenance, our creator, Allah (SWT). In Surah Ankaboot, Allah states that He alone is the provider of food for all the creatures that exist, including YOU.

How many are the creatures who do not store their sustenance! God sustains them and you: He alone is the All Hearing, the All Knowing -29:60

Food Chain

So, let’s spend some time looking at animal food chains of those animals that don’t shop at the grocery store or have a refrigerator and freezer to store their food. How do they manage to get food? This activity – which you can download HERE– is a craft activity to help children appreciate the Allah’s bounties and how He has provided for ALL creatures.

Surah Rum

The Quran has many scientific facts that were stated well before they were understood by man. In ayah 48 of Surah Rum, Allah tell us about the formation of clouds and the dropping of rain.

Allah is the One who send the winds, so they stir up a cloud, then He spreads it in the sky however he wills, and makes it (split) into pieces. Then you see the rain coming out from its midst. So, once He makes it reach those whom He wills from His slaves, they start rejoicing.

Rain is a blessing from Allah (SWT) and is crucial to vegetation. This next activity is a craft activity to help children understand the ayah.

Paper Wind Chime

For this activity, children will up cycle a toilet paper roll and some basic craft supplies along with a template to create a paper wind chime. Parents can help children hang the wind chime in a covered area outdoor near a window so that it can serve as a reminder of the blessings of wind, clouds and rain. You can download the template and directions HERE.

Surah Luqman

In Surah Luqman, ayah 13-19, Luqman (A) gives valuable advice to his son. The last activity for this Juz is centered around these ayahs.
