Paper Bag Puppets

A great way for children to use their imagination is through storytelling. One of our favorite ways of storytelling is with homemade puppets in a puppet show. Here’s how we make our puppets:

Supplies: glue, tulle (and/or ribbon), markers (or crayons), googley eyes, different colored yarn, pipe cleaners, paper (you can also use cardstock or construction paper), various sizes of colored buttons, pom poms, and various clothing cut outs (optional) – I used my cricut electronic cutter for this, but you can print clothing images from google images and print them on colored card stock.

Other suggestions not pictured: various colored foam sheets, glitter, fabric remnants, and any Knic knacks you may have in your craft supplies.

For each child’s place setting, be sure to give them one or more paper bags, a pencil, and a pair of scissors
