DIY tiered serving stand

A great way to use up those plates that don’t match any other set in the home or create a matching set of serve ware for you tea set, is to make your own tiered serving stand. Here’s how to make it.

Materials you will need:

  • The Plates, cups and saucers or bowls you will be using
  • A drill
  • diamond drill bit ( link at the bottom of the page)
  • A wet sponge
  • Hardware for tiered stand (linked at the bottom)

Instructions:

  1. Gather your supplies and tools, and find a safe area to work in.img_4504
  2. Mark the center of your plate (bowl or cup) on the back. I used a ruler to find the middle and used a sharpie to draw a line that insects. Then used that point of intersection as the center of the plate.img_4506
  3. Fit the diamond bit on your drill and keep the wet sponge close by. Use the sponge to keep the drilling area wet. This bit needs to remain wet in order for it to properlu cut through the ceramic.img_4502
  4. Repeat for all the dishes being used.
  5. Lastly, connect the hardware.

***Apologies for the poor grade photography. These tiers platters were made years before I started blogging. I must’ve been thinking about creating a tutorial for it. because I took the pictures for almost every step. The only problem is the pictures were taken in low lighting and on my phone (which did not have the best quality)
