Juz 9: Surah Araf and Surah Anfal

Juz 9 Quran Activities for Kids

Before you dive into the actual activities for each surah, spend some time reciting the surah together. In this case, recite the final part of Surah Araf, starting at ayah 88 and the first 40 ayahs of Surah Anfal. If this is not possible, listen to the surah on a digital device. Since we will be recreating our masjid experience, we be listening to Mishari Rashid on our Quran explorer App.

Surah Araf

In this surah, Ayah 180 states,

“For Allah there are the most beautiful names. So, call Him by them …”

For this reason, we will focus solely on the names of Allah as the activities for this Juz. There are countless benefits to knowing and memorizing the names Allah (SWT). So, we have a couple different activities to help the children get familiar with the names of our creator.

Asma ul Husna

The first activity is simple. Listen to the Asma ul Husna which is a compilation of the 99 beautiful names of Allah (SWT). There are numerous different versions available on various different social media platforms, but my personal favorite is this one.

Allah’s Names Coloring Sheet

I unfortunately don’t have this one made yet. But inshallah I will try to have that for you guys soon. In the meantime, you can google “Allah names coloring sheet”. I haven’t yet searched myself but I’m sure there are plenty of options out there. The kids can color it and memorize some of the names and attributes of Allah (SWT). This activity would most appeal to the younger children.

One Name a Week Activities for learning Allah’s Names

I saw this activity on Our Muslim Homeschool and fell in love with it. This homeschooling mama incorporates activities on a weekly basis with one of the names of Allah’s (SWT). She used a craft activity in which the children made a crown to learn about the name Al-Malik. She used a baking activity and an Islamic book about baking to help children learn about the name Ar-Razzaq. This concept is brilliant and I would love to be able to incorporate this in our own home one day. But for now, I hope this gives you an idea or two to help your children learn a few names of Allah. There are only a couple activities outlined in her post. If you guys have any ideas for additional activities for the names not mentioned by this sister, please share it in the comments section below for all of us to benefit from.

These are just some suggestions for this Juz. If you guys have any other suggestions for activities relating to Juz 9, please leave them in the comments below for all of us to learn from as well. Jazak Allah khair for taking the time visit this page. If you have not yet seen the activities for the previous 8 Juz, please visit Quran Activities for kids. Your feedback is extremely important for me in creating these activities. So, please leave me a comment below, and let me know which of these activities your children have enjoyed.
