Juz 10 Quran Activities for Kids

Before you dive into the actual activities for each surah, spend some time reciting the surah together. In this case, recite the final part of Surah Anfal, starting at ayah 41 and the first 95 ayahs of Surah Tawba. If this is not possible, listen to the surah on a digital device. Since we will be recreating our masjid experience, we be listening to Mishari Rashid on our Quran explorer App.

Surah Anfal

In surah Anfal Ayah 53, it is mentioned

All this is because Allah is not the one who may change a favor He has conferred on a people unless they change what was within themselves. Allah is All-Hearing, All- Knowing.

This specific Ayah is talking about those people on whom Allah has sent his wrath. It’s a reminder for us to not fall in the ways of those who were destroyed because of their stubbornness to change and accept the righteous path. For kids, I feel this Ayah can help them understand the importance of always striving to be a better version of yourself.

Behavior Modification

In this activity, children have an opportunity to self evaluate themselves, and determine which prophetic qualities they need to improve. They will then be asked to track their behavior and complete a behavioral journal worksheet to help them improve on those characteristic which need improvement Click HERE to download the worksheet.

Surah Tawba

Pre-Islamic Arabs honored the sacred months in which fighting was prohibited. However, if they felt they needed to go to war, they would simply extend a non sacred month for as long as it was convenient for them to do so. Or they would shorten a month and even move it around to suit their needs. In surah Tawba Ayah 36, Allah tells us that there are 12 lunar months and of those 12, there are 4 that are sacred so leave them as they should be.

Months of the Year

So for this activity, we will learn a little bit about each of the 12 months. This is a self correcting activity. If competed correctly, the months should be in the correct order in which they occur. To download the activity, click HERE.

Modification for younger children

Younger children can use this activity as a coloring activity. Additionally, you can also use it as a cut and paste activity as well.

Months of the year Song

YouTube is filled with songs about the Islamic month. Singing songs and poems are a great way to help young children learn the names of the months. My husband found an Urdu song almost a decade ago. We used used that song to help our children learn the names of the Islamic months. Unfortunately, I can no longer find it on YouTube, but there are several other Urdu and English versions that are just as great.
